What does "Practical Lifetime" mean?
The term "Practical Lifetime" refers to the reasonable lifetime of the product and its components. This does not mean for your lifetime or an indefinite period. A product’s lifetime is a function of how much it's used, the manner in which it's used, and how well it's cared for. If you've allowed your product to degrade through neglect or abuse, then you have shortened the lifetime of your product.
What is not covered by these services?
We expect that you’ll use your gear, so accidents and wear and tear aren’t covered, meaning we won't bear the cost of a repair or a replacement. The following are only some examples of accidental damage and wear and tear:
- Pilling, abrasions, stray threads—any cosmetic wear that doesn't affect the product's function or performance
- Rips, tears, or cuts—submit a repair parts request
- Stains, fading, or discoloration
- Shrinkage or other damage from laundering
- Wetting out from declining DWR performance—refer to our product care page
- Zippers and zipper components
Warranty is not an extension of our returns policy. Dissatisfaction with the size, fit, look, or the perceived quality of your product are not warrantable claims.
How do 686's warranty services work?
It's at the discretion of the 686 Customer Experience team to review your claim and determine if your product is covered by these services. Consideration is given, but not limited to, the type and nature of the product, the nature of the use of the product, the nature of the issue involved, and the age of the product.
If your claim qualifies, our team will provide the appropriate recommendation for a solution, taking into account cost, time, and the issue at hand.
